John Hysel & us } This indenture witnesseth Know all men by these presents
        to      } that I John Hysel of Salisbury Township, Gallia County,
Alvan Bingham   } Ohio, in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars
                  lawful money paid me by Alvan Bingham of Town and County
and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do hereby give,
grant, and bargain, sell and convey unto the said Alvan Bingham, his heirs and
assigns forever, twelve acres of land six acres on the east side of Leading creek
beginning at the bank and joining land David Thomas sold, now owned by McNorten
running east to an ash stake, thence 6 chains east, thence South 10 1/2 chains,
thence west to the creek, thence up the creek to the place of beginning. Six acres
on the West side beginning at the Creek joining land owned by Widow Siglar running
west 10 1/2 chains, thence South to the creek, thence up the creek to the place of
beginning to contain the creek within said bounds. To have and to hold the said
granted and bargained premises with the privileges and appurtenances thereof to
him the said Alvan Bingham, his heirs and assigns forever to his and their use and
behoof forever and I the said John Hysel for myself, my heirs, executors and
administrators do covenant with the said Alvan Bingham, his heirs and assigns that
I am lawfully seized in fee of the premises that they are free of any encumbrances
that I have good right to sell and convey the same to the said Alvan Bingham to
hold as aforesaid and that I will warrant and defend the same to the said Alvan
Bingham, his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of
all persons.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty
second day of June one thousand eight hundred and eighteen.
