D.C. McNaughton } To all people to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know
      to        } ye that I Daniel C. McNaughton of Salisbury, County of Meigs,
 Edward Hysell  } and State of Ohio for and in consideration of the sum of Five
                  hundred dollars to me in hand before the ensealing hereof well
and truly paid by Edward Hysell of the Town, County and State aforesaid the
receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and am therewith fully satisfied and
contented; have given, granted, bargained, sold, alien or conveyed and confirmed
and by these presents do fully, freely and absolutely give, grant, bargain, sell,
alien, convey and confirm unto him the said Edward, his heirs and assigns forever
a lot on part of a lot of land in Township one (1), Range (13) beginning at the
South west corner of Lot No. 307 stake and tree, then east 250 rods to a stake of
stones, thence North 32 rods to a stake of stones, thence west 250 rods to a
stake, thence South 32 rods to the place of beginning containing Fifty acres of
land. To have and to hold, the said granted and bargained premises as ______ the
appurtenances privileges and commodities to the same in any way belonging to him
the said Edward, his heirs and assigns forever, to his and their only proper use,
benefit and behoof forever, and I the said Daniel for myself and heirs, executors
and administrators do covenant to and with the said Edward, his heirs and assigns
that before the ensealing hereof I am the true sole and lawful owner of the above
bargained premises and am lawfully seized and possessed of the same in my own
proper right as a good perfect and absolute estate of inheritance in fee simple
and have full power and authority to sell and convey the said bargained premises
in manner aforesaid, and furthermore do warrant and engage the ___________
premises to him the said Edward, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims
or demands of any person or persons whatsoever forever hereafter to warrant secure
and defend by these presents.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this sixteenth day of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and twenty.

Meigs County } Be it known that on the seventeenth day of November A.D. 1820
               before me personally appeared Daniel C. McNaughton, known to me to
be the within named person and acknowledged the above deed to be his voluntary act
by him signed, sealed and delivered, at the same time came Sally McNaughton wife
of the said Daniel C. McNaughton who being examined separate and apart from her
said husband, acknowledged that she relinquished her right of dower of her own
free will and accord without the threats or coercion of her husband.
