Daniel C. McNaughton} To all people to whom these presents shall come greeting
        to          } Know ye that I Daniel C. McNaughton of Salisbury Township
  Francis Hysell    } Meigs County and State of Ohio for and in consideration
                      of the sum of Two Hundred and sixty dollars to me in hand
paid before the ensealing and delivery hereof well and truly paid by Francis
Hysell of Rutland Township and State aforesaid and the receipt whereof I do
hereby acknowledge and myself therewith fully satisfied and contented have
granted, bargained, sold, aliened and conveyed and by these presents do
bargain, alien, sell and convey unto him the said Francis Hysell, his heirs and
assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being situate in
Rutland Township, County and State aforesaid and being a part of Lot Number
Two, Range fourteen, Section Two and bounded as follows, viz beginning at the
north east corner of a lot of land owned by Henry Filkins running seventy five
rods eleven and a fourth links one and a half degree west of north to a stake
and stones, then two hundred and fourteen rods one and a half degree south of
west to a stake and stones, then seventy five rods eleven and a fourth links
one and a half degree east of south to a stake and stones, then two hundred and
fourteen rods one and a half degree north of east to the first boundary.  To
contain one hundred acres and one hundred forty nine rods.  To have and to hold
the said demised and bargained premises with all the appurtenances, privileges
and commodities to this come belonging to him the said Francis Hysell, his
heirs and assigns forever to his and their only proper use, benefit and behoof
forever.  And I the said Daniel C. McNaughton for myself, heirs, executors and
administrators, do covenant to and with the said Francis Hysell, his heirs and
assigns that before the ensealing hereof I am the rightful owner of the above
bargained premises by deed in fee simple and have good right  to sell and
convey the same in the manner as aforesaid and further more do covenant and
engage the above demised premises to him the said Francis Hysell, his heirs and
assigns so that neither I the said Daniel C. McNaughton or any other person nor
my heirs shall by any means hereafter have claim or demand any rights or title
in or to the premises aforesaid or any part or piece thereof and that the said
Francis Hysell, his heirs and assigns shall and may forever hereafter possess
and enjoy the same free and clear of and from all lawful claims and demands of
all person claiming, or to claim by from or under us or either of us.  In
testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of June
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five.

And Sally, the wife of the said Daniel C. McNaughton in token of her relinquishment of dower in the premises within mentioned deed has hereunto set her hand and seal this sixth day of June, Anno Domini eighteen hundred and twenty five.

The State of Ohio, Meigs County  } Be it known that on the day and year above
                                   written personally came Daniel C.
McNaughton and acknowledged the within signature to be her free act and
deed by him executed for the within purposes and Sally McNaughton being
examined separate and apart from her said husband acknowledged the above
signature to be her voluntary act and deed executed without fear or coercion
from her said husband. Before me a Justice of the Peace in and for the County
of Meigs given under my hand and seal this sixth day of June Anno Domini
eighteen hundred twenty five.
