WASHINGTON CO., OH, DEEDS, VOL. 1, 1793-1807. pg. 324. DEED -- Daniel Northrup To John Painter. Washington County Records, Vol. 9, Page 51. Know all men by these presents that I Daniel Northrup of the Township of Gallipolis in County of Gallia and State of Ohio for and in consideration of the sum of twenty five cents to me in hand already paid by John Painter and Sarah his wife of Muskingum County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge, do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the said John Painter and Sarah his wife a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred acres which land is situated on the Great Hockhocking River n the county of Washington and State of Ohio and is Lot No. three hundred thirty seven in the thirteenth section of the tenth Township of the fourteenth range of Townships was drawn to the name of Peter Philips and transferred to Daniel Northrup by said Philips for the ascertaining of which the drafts, plans, and records of the Ohio Company will make fully to appear and reference thereunto being had. To have and to hold the aforegoing premises to the said John Painter and Sarah his wife, their lawful ???? use and behoof forever and I do covenant with the said John Painter and Sarah his wife their heirs to have the same premises are free from all incumbrances and that I will warrant and defend the same to the said John Painter and Sarah his wife, their heirs to, forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. In witness whereof I the said Daniel Northrup have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty third day of October in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and four. This twenty third day of October AD 1804, came Daniel Northrup signer and sealer of the above written instrument and acknowledged the same to be his free voluntary act and deed.
