Benjamin Rasser } To all whom these presents shall come to be it know that I
      to        } Benj Rasser of Marietta in the county of Washington, in the
John Russell    } territory of the United States northwest of the river Ohio,
                  laborer, for and in consideration of the sum of fifty
dollars to me in hand paid by John Russell of the same place, yeoman, before
the ensealing hereof the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and am fully
and amply satisfied, contented and paid do give, grant, bargain, sell, alien,
release, confirm and convey and by these presents have given, granted,
bargained, sold, aliened, released, confirmed and conveyed unto him the said
John Russell, his heirs and assigns forever one hundred acres of land situate
in the county and territory aforesaid and is butted and bounded as follows viz
lying in the mile square lot No. thirty three of the third township and ninth
range surveyed agreeably to the ordinance of the twentieth of May one thousand
seven hundred and eighty five.  Beginning at a stake where a poplar eight
inches diameter bears south seven degrees east eight links and a black oak
thirty inches diameter bears north twenty seven degrees west forty eight links
then running east twenty three chains sixty five links to a post where a red
oak bears north seventy one degrees west six links and is eighteen inches
diameter and another red oak twenty inches diameter bears south eight degrees
east eighteen links thence running north forty two chains twenty seven links
to a white oak fourteen inches diameter marked for the corner of the lots No.
nineteen and twenty then running west twenty three chains sixty five links to
a post where a white oak twenty four inches diameter bears north sixty one
degrees east twenty four links another white oak fourteen inches diameter
bears south twenty eight degrees west twenty seven links then running south
forty two chains twenty seven links to the place of beginning and is No.
nineteen in the plan of allotment bounded north on unallocated lands south on
the Ohio Company's land east on lot No. twenty west on lot No. eighteen. To
have and to hold the said granted premises with the appurtenances to him the
said John Russell, his heirs and assigns forever in fee simple and I do hereby
covenant and agree with the said John Russell to warrant and defend the
premises aforesaid against the lawful claim or claims of any person or persons
whatsoever.  In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my
seal the first day of April in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred
and ninety five.

Washington County } Before me R.J. Meigs one of the Justices of the Peace for
Pletiah White     } the county aforesaid personally appeared Benj Rasser the
                    above grantor and acknowledged the same to be his
voluntary act and desired the same may be recorded this first day of April AD
one thousand seven hundred and ninety five.
