William Skinner } Know all men by these presents that I William Skinner of To } Marietta in the County of Washington and State of Ohio for and Hugh McLaughlin } in consideration of the sum of two hundred and forty dollars to me in hand paid by Hugh McLaughlin of the town of Columbia in Meigs County and State aforesaid the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge do by these presents give, grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Hugh McLaughlin his heirs and assigns forever all and singular the south west quarter section of Section Number Nineteen (19) in Township Number nine (9) of the Fifteenth Range of the Ohio Company's Purchase containing one hundred and sixty acres be the same more or less and for a more particular description reference is hereby had to the books and plans of the Ohio Company. Together with all the privileges and appurtenances to the same in any wise belonging and appertaining. To have and to hold the above granted premises to the said Hugh McLaughlin, his heirs and assigns to his and their use and behoof forever and I the said William Skinner for myself, heirs, executors and administrators do covenant with the said Hugh McLaughlin, his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized in fee of the aforegranted premises that they are free from all incumbrances that I have good right to sell and convey the same in manner aforesaid and that I will and my heirs, executors and administrators shall warrant, secure and defend the same to the said Hugh McLaughlin and to his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons. In testimony whereof I the said William Skinner have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three.
