David Green Sr. b. 1797, Virginia, m. Sarah Meadows, b. 1798, Kanawha Co., WV, (daughter of Parris "Arris" Preston Meadows and Martha Byrnside or Burnside) Moved to Meigs Co. Ohio about 1841. If these dates are correct, the first two children were born after the parents were married. It doesn't seem as though Minerva is really their child as they would have had to have been very young parents.

There is a possiblity his middle name is Edward. But there was also an Edward H. Green married to a Sarah Parsons in the county that is not the same Sarah. So, the two families might be misidentified and the middle name of Edward may not apply to this David Green. They have have been married before 1819 and the marriage date might be wrong because of the same confusion of names.

I. Marinda or Marina Greene b. 18-Dec-1818, Jackson Co.,
     WV, m. 31-May-1840, in Virginia, John H. Westfall, b.

and husband cannot read/write. Married 60 years. If
the dates are correct Anderson was born before his
parents were married. We have not proved if Marinda is the
dau. of David and Sarah. Sue Hapney says that is where
     Marinda belongs.

these dates are correct, Melissa was 14 when married.

Elizabeth Harper, b. 6-Mar-1844, Kanawha Co., VA,
(daughter of Henderson Harper and Gracey M. Gandee) d.
27-Sep-1922, Kelloggsville, Ashtabula Co., Ohio. Clark
died 16-Jan-1929, Pasco, Franklin Co., WA. Clark W.
Green and Mary E. Green had a farm joining the lot of
Charles Morgan and Sylvesta Honaker in Red House, West
Virginia. The Green farm was on a hill where they
lived until they sold the farm around 1915 and bought
one on Buffalo Creek near where their son and
daughter-in-law, T.R. and Bertha Green had their farm
and son Perry Marshall Green also built a house.
The Green family next moved to Kelloggsville, Ohio. Clark and Mary Elizabeth, son "Rob" and his wife Bertha Honaker, Frank and Permelia Simmons (she was the daughter of their daughter Mazilla and Anthony Strader), all lived close to the LaPenske and the Kitchen families who were friends. Another son, Perry, also lived nearby where he owned a fruit farm which was later owned by his son, William Elmer Green. The move to the Kelloggsville area was about 1920. This location is in the very top northern part of Ohio. Conneaut was the post office and located 21 miles away.

Soon after Mary's death in 1922, Clark suffered a bad infection in a foot with gangrene which required partial amputation about mid-arch. After that, Clark moved about living short periods of time with various relatives.

Clark's son T.R. or "Rob" and family moved to Pasco, WA in 1926 and about a year after that Clark moved out there to live with them. He passed away about a year later of a heart attack.

Clark enlisted in the Confederate Army, Co. G. 60th Regiment of the Virginia Infantry as a C. S. G. Private at Reedsville, WV in Preston County on 9/22/1862. He was taken prisoner of war at Piedmont, WV in Meneral County on 6/5/1864. He was released on oath on 5/20/1865. His complexion was florid, hair-light, eyes-blue, height 5'7 1/4". He always wore a beard. He was a farmer.

Wanda Fransworth Dray says Clark did not have a middle name, just the middle initial of W.

Wanda also says Clark and Mary homesteaded in Gandeeville, which was named after the Uriah Gandee family, grandparents of Mary Elizabeth.
