Need help with ancestry of John M. and Thankful Cartwright Whitney.

Thankful was born 1806 in Maine (not sure of the town). The parents, Jabez and Abigail Milk Wheeler Whitney were married in 1804 in Chesterville, Franklin, Maine. Need to find ancestry of Jabez. I just found out he is "of N Yarmouth" ( from Marriage intention). We haven't been able to link him to JOHN & ELINOR WHITNEY of Gorham.

John M Cartwright was born 1806/1809 we think in VA. He was one of the people who posted bond in the probate of William Cartwright who died in 1825 in Meigs Co. OH. From the probate and other circumstantial evidence we think he and Mary Hoyt Cartwright are John's parents. But would love to have more definite proof.

William, born in Loudon, VA about 1790, is the son of Caleb Cartwright from NH . They moved to Meigs Co, OH in about 1813.

Mary Hoyt is also from New Hampshire, the dau of John and Hannah Prescott Hoyt. I just recently received her line too.

William and Mary's children include John M., Mahala, Mary, & Hiram.. Mahala and Hiram evidently stayed in Meigs Co. John M. and Thankful moved on to Illinois first to Knox Co. Then Thankful, at least, to Adams Co. She is in the Census there in 1850, as head of household. Her parents had also located in Adams Co. Jabez's probate is found there in 1839. However I can find no record of death for John M. Cartwright.

Does anyone know of John M.'s death or his parentage? Or for that matter that of Jabez Whitney's? Would appreciate any info. I Have alot of information about descendencies and also some collateral lines.
