I've asked this question another way a while ago, but I hope whomever answered then won't mind. We think the Henry Wehrung who was naturalized in Pittsburgh in 1849 may have been the same man who later lived in Meigs Co., OH. However, we lack any clue to his origins. He appears to have married in Pennsylvania, and there is a good chance it was in a Lutheran church. I've been advised to contact the historical society there, but would like to know if anybody has actually found a marriage from the 1847-49 period before committing to research. While a short period, I'm told there were many churches, whose records may now be scattered. Church records are more likely to record a place of birth, but do civil marriage records for Allegheny Co. also exist, since he may not actually have not lived in the city, but only have been naturalized there?
