The Last Will and Testament of Josephus C. Carpenter
January 7, 1907
I, Josephus C. Carpenter being in sound mind. Do will and bequeath to my wife
Phoebe Carpenter the farm on which we live to maintain her lifetime. She can
have control of the place during her lifetime and at her death it is to be
divided up equal between my children. All to share equal. Anna Cleland,
Sherman Carpenter, Emma Gotschall, Justine Hutton, Eva Rife, Elzworth
Carpenter, Danie Carpenter, Winnie Carpenter. They can sell it and divide
equal the proceeds.
I give to my wife Phoebe Carpenter and my daughter Winnie the sum of one
hundred and fifty dollars and interest which Mc Smith owes me to do as they
wish with. And one hundred and fifty that in the back to be divided equal
among all my children.

In the matter of the will of Josephus C. Carpenter deceased.
To Phoebe Carpenter
You are hereby commanded to notify Cora Hutton, Ina Gilmore, Emmet Gilmore
and James Gilmore the father of Ina Gilmore and Emmet Gilmore giving at least
3 day notice. That on the 11th day of February A.D. 1907 an instrument of
writing, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Josephus C.
Carpenter late of Rutland Township, in said County, deceased was produced in
open Court, and an application to admit the same to probate was on the same
day made in said Court. Said application will be for hearing before said
Court, on the 8th day of March A.D. 1907 at 10 o'clock a.m.
Here fail not, but of this writ and service thereon make due return.
Witness by signature as Judge of Probate Court and the seal of said Court,
