Will

I Thomas J. Chase do make and publish this my last Will and Testament
first item: I give and devise to my Wife in lieu of her dower the Farm on which we now reside, 
situate in the county of Meigs and in the State of Ohio and in Scipio Township and bounded and 
discribed as follows to wit:

One Hundred and six acers and a half of an acer, bounded and discribed as follows. Bounded on 
the South by lands owned by George Romine and on the West by lands owned by David Dye and 
Abraham Gotschall and on the north by lands owned by Zackeria Dye and on the East by lands 
owned by Jane Lee. The above discribed farm containing one hundred and six acers and a half acer, 
during her natural life and all the stock household goods furniture provisions and other goods 
and chattles which may be thereon at the time of my decease, during her natural life as 
aforesaid. (She however selling so much thereof as may be sufficient to pay my just debts) at the 
death of my said wife, the Real Estate aforesaid I give and devise to my son Thomas J Chase all 
of my Real Estate above mentioned and my son Thomas J Chase is to pay to my two sons Martin Chase 
and Howard M Chase the sum of five Hundred Dollars each. Said sums of money is to be paid in 
payments when the said Martin and Howard Chase shall arrive at the age of Twenty one years old. 
Payments as follows, the said Thomas J Chase is to pay the said Martin and Howard Chase the sum 
of one Hundred Dollars each per year until paid. Said sums of money to be secured by mortgage on 
said Real Estate.

And at the death of my wife all the Household goods and furniture is to be Devided Equely between 
my three Daughters Samaria Chase, Jessey Chase & Alvira Chase.

I desire that no appraisement and no sale of my Personal Property be made and that the Court of 
Probate direct the omission of the same in pursuance of the statute, I do hereby revoke all former 
wills by me made.

In Testimony hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Day of March in the year of our 
Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and seventy six,

Application to Probate Will
To the Honorable the Judge of Said Court,
and now comes Catharine Chase
and Produces for admission to Probate in said Court the Last Will and Testament of Thomas J. 
Chase late a resident of the Township of Scipio in said County, who died on the First day of 
February, A.D. 1879.

Said Will was not deposited during the lifetime of the Testator, in the office of the Judge of 
the Probate Court of said County, for safe-keeping, as allowed by law. Said Testator died 
leaving Catharine Chase his widow and the following persons, all of his next of kin resident in 
the State of Ohio.
