Here is a copy of Jeremiah Dorchester Gotschall's will that I found at the Meigs Co. Courthouse.
I, JEREMIAH GOTSCHALL, of the Township of Scipio, county of Meigs and State of Ohio, being of full age and of sound mind and memory, do make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all wills by me heretofore made. FIRST: -- I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate as soon as practicable after the time of my decease. SECOND: -- I give and bequest to my beloved daughter, Oleva E. Cotterill, of Scipio Township, Meigs County, Ohio all my household goods including the piano which is located in the homestead. THIRD: -- All the property, real and personal, of every kind and description, wheresoever situate, which I may own or have the right to dispose of at the time of my decease, I give, bequeath and devise to my beloved children, Flen (should be Glen) R. Gotschall, Catherine A. Rickey, Bessie M. Musser and Oleva E. Cotterill share and share alike, absolutely and in fee simple. FOURTH: -- I make, nominate and appoint my son, Glen R. Gotschall and son-in-law, Edward Rickey to be the joint executors of this, my last will and testament, and I request that no bond be required of them as such. I further request that no inventory of my estate be made or taken in so far as the same may be lawfully omitted. NOTES: Jeremiah was the only son of Abraham Gotschall (born in Harrison Co., Ohio) and Catherine Sthal (born in Harrison Co., Ohio) The following is a list the living children of Jeremiah Gotschall and where they were living at the time of his death. Bessie Musser, dau, Rutland, Ohio Catherine A. Rickey, dau, Albany, Ohio Glen R. Gotschall, son, Sunbury, Ohio Oleva E. Cotterill, dau, Harrisonville, Ohio Jeremiah Gotschall was married twice: First -- Amanda M. Douglass (May 13, 1880). They had two children, Bessie and Catherine. Amanda died August 2, 1888. Second -- Elizabeth Turner Musser (October 13, 1889). They had four children Hudson and Judson a set of twins that died at 2 months -- buried Shipman, Glen R. Gotschall and Oleva E. Cotterill. I am searching for any information on Glen R. Gotschall. He was living in Sunbury, Ohio at the time of his father death. I have not been able to locate any information on him and his family.
