Last Will and Testament of Stephen Root

"In the name of the Benevolent of all, I, Stephen Root, of Pomeroy, Meigs Co, Ohio, do 
make and publish this my last will and Testament.

Item 1st - It is my will that my just debts and all charges be paid out of my estate.

Item 2d - I give & devise all the residue of my estate both Real & Personal to my beloved 
wife, Polly, to be to her and her heirs forever.

Given under my hand & seal this the 16th day of February in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred and forty nine.
